People called Sessions an extremist wingnut for years, and then he became the first major politician to support Trump, the man who showed that you could win a national election based on a platform eerily similar to what Sessions had been running on for years. (Minus the warhawk foreign policy.) Now Sessions has been thrown out like a used Kleenex by exactly the sort of conservative movement he had hoped would come along for years.
