So people should be forced to follow certain religious observances even if they do not believe in said religion?

By the same thought, what if the majority was atheist? By your line of thought, they could vote to ban all religion. I’m guessing you wouldn’t be in favor. Democracy without guardrails can lead to some pretty evil shite.
