Slow 2 days of fishing but I did manage to catch my pb at 24.5 inches and around 5 lbs. Needless to say I am now addicted to wade fishing. Having said that, looks like I will be investing in some simms g3 waders but I am not sure what type of wading boot to get that would be compatable with those type of waders. I do not want anything too bulky because of how much ground I have to cover. Are there any wading boots that will work with the stocking foot waders and with neopreme socks. I am wanting something that will work in the winter and summer when I am not wearing waders.

Not going to happen, Wade boots need to be 1-1.5 times larger than regular shoes/boots. Stick with a Simms vibrant soled boot in the upper tier and buy their wet Wade boot in reg size. My new boots are the g3 and very comfy.

Glad you caught a nice fish with Lee. If the fish are eating, he will catch them. You can definitely wear any of the Simms boots throughout the seasons, with or without waders. However, if comfort is a determining factor of how much time you'll spend on the water, you'll be better served by purchasing two distinct pair.

I wear Simms flats sneakers with their wet wading socks during all but the coldest months. They're comfortable enough to wear without any socks if you choose and sizing runs the same as your normal shoe size. The G3's mentioned above are extremely nice as are the Headwaters BOA boots. Both styles tend to have less water flow in and out of the boot meaning your foot will stay warmer inside your stockingfoot waders. The Headwaters appear to be the last model still sporting their BOA lacing system, if that's your thing. I've found that most of Simms' wading boots that are to be worn over stockingfoot waders should be sized up by at least one size.

Look online for Simms sales on waders and boots. There are deals to be found. Next time you're in Houston, stop by one of the Fishing Tackle Unlimited stores in order to shop the largest selection of Simms gear that you'll ever see.
