Had my drummer (EE from my AU days, a North Alabama redneck genius) rework the whole blasted thing about 5 years ago. Completely rewired and copper shielded it, put in JBE pickups and set the action nice and low, and it plays as good as it sounds. I had long before installed Schaller tuners to replace the insufferably bad original Grovers after the A tuner underwent what fighter pilots call an Unplanned Rapid Disassembly in the middle of a gig

I also have the push-pull harness - I really like what it can do with the tone.

I don’t play the Rickster live as much as I used to since I got the Geddy, but I do like to put it through its paces every now and then
