So why is Hughes being charged with the mental error, which warrants a benching? That's what I'm trying to get at. I think it's just a reason to pile on Hughes, so it's being done.


All that being said, I'm really hoping the experiment works and Hughes doesn't have to start another game at SS at LSU again. That would be wonderful. I don't see it being able to happen, but it will be great if it does.

Hughes had an issue on a cutoff throw as well IIRC. I wasn't referring to the throw down when I said that (mental errors). He looked off in the field. And I can say off, because we know he capably played the position his freshman year so we know this performance was uncharacteristic.
