a position we created on the staff 6 months ago is absurd
Speaking of facts, I notice that you conveniently skipped over the part of my post where I pointed out that this is not a title or position LSU just created "6 months ago" or even one created specifically for Brady. It was first created when O moved Jerry Sullivan to an on-field coaching position 2 years ago.
But the point is that the position/title, in whatever way or form it is used, has been around football for longer than LSU started using it. It's not some creation we pulled out of thin air. Just like we weren't the first to develop the title of a "run game coordinator," because we have one of those too, and have had it since even before James Cregg.
Overall, I will agree with you on the point that sometimes these titles are thrown around or given out solely for the purpose of justifying a pay raise for a coach or to make them feel important in order to help keep them on staff without creating any actual change in job duties or description (e.g. run game coordinator titles). However, it is clear that O has a specific purpose and job description for what he expects from the PGC here at LSU. It's not a title that is just thrown about to make someone feel important or to give them a raise.
