What did they lose from the original design that they are trying to bring back?

The course has been redesigned several times since it was built in 1922-1923. As it stands now, there are very little "Raynor" characteristics. The holes are still named after the templates or "ideal holes," but they mostly miss the mark when compared to other Raynor courses. The master plan rectifies that in a big way.
