Sincere Apology. Long overdue

Good Evening,
Initially I posted this in response to getting called a handler among other things in the thread about Billy E and Josh having some sort of beef. During this thread I was brought up over the Quad Brown thread.
At the request of another poster, I am starting a new thread with an apology as well As some facts on how things went down.
As a father, coach, and Tiger fan, I owe this to you guys and deserve any criticism coming my way that hasn’t already. I love LSU. And I let that love and passion boil over into a critical error in judgement. I am truly sorry for the post I made. But I am most sorry I lied about It. It was wrong.
But that doesn’t make me a handler or a bad person. It made me human and my fandom clouded my professionalism. Below are some facts which I posted in the other thread. Geaux Tigers and God Bless.
Fact 1
I’m not a handler nor have I ever been compensated or attempted to be compensated or receive any improper benefit for assisting Quad. Or anyone else for that matter.
Fact 2
Quad had zero offers when his father asked me to start helping him. He asked. I helped. He ended up getting 12 offers including a few P5 offers. He is now on a full scholarship at Georgia State and is expected to be the starter as a true Sophomore this coming season. Did it work out at LSU? Nope. Did Quad ultimately get a full scholarship to play D1 FBS ball? Yup.
Fact 3
As a lifelong fan of LSU, I absolutely tried to get him an offer at LSU, especially when he communicated to me that LSU is where he wanted to be. I brought him to camp and multiple visits on my dime (per the invitation from a staff member, and both myself and Quad were told things by 2 separate staff members that did not happen. (Both staff members are no longer at LSU.) This Camp was one of 13 camps that I took Quad and several other kids, and I sponsored them to do so.
Fact 4
I was instructed by Coach Hawkins to get Jayson Jones on campus. I did not hold Jayson out to get Quad an offer.
Fact 5
Bc I have been a lifelong LSU fan, I let my emotion cloud my judgement when things didn’t work out for Quad, knowing how bad he wanted to be at LSU. For that I raise my hand and take responsibility for letting my emotions get in the way of my better judgement. I’m sure some of you have made a mistake before. Maybe. Maybe not.
What I do know is that I lied about the regrettable post I made here, and I take full responsibility for it. It was unbecoming, and I should have been honest about it. I reacted in an unprofessional and frankly I’m most disappointed that I lied about the post.
That said, the content of the post was information passed along to me, and I got pissed and out of character when I did that.
For that I do owe you guys an apology, Bc it clouded a ton of hard work and completely derailed that thread.
So...sorry guys....but Geaux Tigers

No one cares, bud

It was brought up in a thread having nothing fi so with me 2 years after the fact. This was in response to that. So someone cared enough to bring it back up...so I cared enough to address it and own it.

Slammed and quoted you in another thread.....but takes a big man to apologize like you just did.
Posted on 2/4/20 at 12:53 am to CoachJG45
its all good. You are not the first to tell a lie here and wont be the last. We are all human and prone to error. Difference is you came forth to make it right.

Thanks man. Truly appreciate it

I think you let your ego cloud your judgment and you acted like a 12 year old girl.
You deserve the shite you got because that was one of the worst displays of childish behavior I’ve witnessed in all my years here.
You basically cursed LSU because you didn’t get your way. Not cool.
Start posting like a fan and not like a know it all, with a “I know more than you” attitude.
I admire you for trying to help these kids, I despise you for the way you did it.
Anyone who comes here and trashes LSU is no better than the opposing fans we hate.
Do better.

Well that couldn’t have been easy to write, but obviously not as difficult as the phone conversation from the person who told you to come clean it sounds like. Maybe I am wrong, maybe you might just have had an epiphany and come clean. Just reading the post sounds like you had a very tough conversation behind it.
Anyway all’s good by me, because whoever says they haven’t made a mistake that they aren’t very proud of, is lying anyway so who cares! We all make mistakes, not too many fess up to them so you are ahead of the ball game in that regard.

Lifelong means your whole life. Here is a period of your life where you are most definitely not an LSU fan. So maybe say “off an on”

Do you mean the whole “My cousin posted that” nonsense no one believed anyway? What other lies were there? I followed most of that thread, and was really pulling for you and Quad. It was really disappointing to see it end the way it did.

I care. He did the mature thing and "manned up"
Posted on 2/4/20 at 3:53 am to CoachJG45
Good for owning up.
Sometimes even as guys our emotions get in the way of sound logic and good judgement.
Enjoy being an LSU fan with the rest of Us.
Geaux Tiger's
We will never all agree with each other or even the coaches etc but are still LSU fans.

You are apologizing (for who knows what) on a web message board. Do you have the mentality of a second grader?

Wow, amazing apology and accepted, I remember the thread and you may get some negative responses but ignore them and move forward
Go Tigers

See, one thing that LSU-loving kids need to understand: LSU is elite. It is not a program looking to draw from the undercurrent of folk-laden support. It sucks for some of these kids that LSU has evolved into being on the mountain where they (LSU) are a nationwide draw.
Just because a mid/lower tiered talent grew up bleeding purple n gold doesn’t mean they get the golden ticket. Rather, they would be fortunate to have the opportunity to develop further on scholarship at a place of higher learning.......and we all welcome them with open arms as FANS who love LSU.
I don’t know your story. I do many past stories. LSU dictates the fabric of its team (for success), not HS coaches, recruiting experts, polarized friends of Little Jonnies’ family.
Sometimes not everyone gets a trophy much less the opportunity to be a Tiger.
Oh, good job apologizing coach.

Yes that part. That’s the only part. Everything I passed along in the thread was true or it was communicated to me and I posted it.

I agree Charles. LSU is not for everyone anymore.
And It takes a big man to admit when he’s wrong.
CoachJ just got overwhelmed with the emotion of helping a player he cares about. And at the end of the day, isn’t that part of what makes them a coach? Caring about a player and wanting them to succeed.
