Why is our compliance Department such hard asses for weed violations. Unlike Bama and pretty much any other school in the conference. Why are we even doing this? Also be known for this cannot be good for recruiting.

Why are you so sure this is just a weed violation? Seems like more than that to me.

Because weed and other substance violations are against written University policy. PDF of LSU Policy
Since LSU and the Athletic Department and not the compliance department determine said policy, the compliance department has its hands tied and is responsible for following LSU's written policy per NCAA rule mandate.
Please note that I am not defending the compliance department, but their hands are tied in the matter of failed LSU and/or NCAA administered drug tests.
Now whether a change in LSU's written policy can come from the Athletic Dept. or needs to come from higher up in the Administration (Board of Supervisors) is the question.
