re: Most Boring State To Live In/Visit?

Gonna hurt a lot of folks feelings, but, most SEC states would rank on this list.
However, one thing I'm baffled/intrigued by is the "state pride" that southerners have compared to the rest of the country.
I'm a proud Atlantan, but holy fahk, wish we could sell everything south of the airport to Alabama or Florida for 2 oatmeal creampies and a free oil change. We'll keep Metro ATL and the mountains.
I'm sure the folks down south would love it for 10 seconds 'til they realize that sweet, sweet money train they bitch about up north isn't subsidizing their backwards politics.
If you talk to someone from Boston, they say, "Boston," not "Massachusetts." Even people from Dallas or Houston, say their city.
Anyone else puzzled by this?

Wrong
When in Texas, we say the city
Outside if Texas, we say Texas
