I can field strip a Glock or Classic Sig, clean it, lube it ( ) and have it back together before some of you baws get all the safety latches, catches, locks, beavertails ( ) off the thing and the hundreds of parts organized neatly.



Taking the beavertail safety is not part of field stripping the 1911.

It takes me like 3 seconds to field strip one.

To the OP.

I have 4 guns in .45 cal
2 1911s
1 Ruger Blackhawk
1 H&K USP

I really like the USP a lot.
one of my 1911's I upgraded the internals on the frame because the trigger in that gun was absolutely terrible (It's a Springfield Champion). I replaced everything with Wilson parts and the trigger is now almost as good as the trigger tech on my bolt action. Stoned the sear and polished some of the parts. The pull is sitting around 3 lbs if I remember correctly.
