What’s also funny is that people think Aranda is a base 3-4 guy when in reality he was more of a 3-3-5 guy. Although 3-4 and 3-3-5 aren’t much different at all.

I'd argue he ran a 3 DT, 1 hybrid DE, 2 LB, 5 DB system, with his goal being to stuff the inside run, play man to man on the outside, and let the speed of the LB/DB's make plays.
Not a terrible strategy, but it's not designed to absolutely shutdown offenses and rank in the Top 5 for yards/scoring.

It's good for 3rd down defense, forcing the offense to execute all the way down the field.
It's not great at pressure, sacks, or forcing turnovers.
But, it's very effective against almost every type of offense.
