Seeing as we likely go to a 4-3 w/ a new DC, my guess is he’s moved to safety.

Have no clue why people keep putting this stuff out there when there’s ABSOLUTELY NOTHING that says this is likely... The personnel that was recruited in this class suggests the alignment is going to remain 3-4.... LSU does not have a single 4-3 de on this roster

Even had a poster suggests K’ Lavon stay an additional year to come back and play as a 4-3 de lol This stuff is getting more outrageous every day it seems

right. the guys we've signed thus far fit the mold of the 3-4/3-3-5 scheme we've been running. thats not to say they cant transition into fitting a 4-3, but would be odd to try to fit a bunch of square pegs into round holes.

build the scheme around the players, dont try to fit the players into a rigid scheme

I’m not saying it’s the right thing to do.

You are completely right in saying we have the ideal personnel for a 3-4 defense.

Though I’m with you that a DC SHOULD adapt his scheme to the personnel he’s dealt, it’s usually not the reality. That’s one of the things Aranda was brilliant at - creating roles and putting guys in positions that suit their strengths.

From what I’ve seen out there, I just don’t have faith in another DC being that creative and detailed.

Will the next DC have the same vision for Brooks as Aranda did? I have my doubts.

They’ll see his current size, speed, and ball skills and lazily think Safety. Sadly.

Sounds ridiculous I agree. Most DC have the ability to run either and you’d think at the very least if the new DC wanted to run a 4-3 he would be pigeonholed into running a 3-4 at least next year. Remember when aranda got here we basically didn’t even have enough scholarship LB to start a team but he remedied that quickly. Could go either way in the long ur in but one would think with our personnel we will run a 3-4 at least next season.
