I can see Trump giving the UK a "sweetheart deal". It would be best in the long term. It gives them leverage against the EU and a successful UK would not go unnoticed throughout Europe. It could influence other countries on the fence about leaving.

The complete breakup of the EU is not in the USA's best interest long term, they are long overdue for another continental war and we would be forced to get involved.
