I definitely depart from this boards general feeling on this. The government doesn't need to be providing children with sugar and grease laden foods. People are fat enough already and eating habits start young.

I doubt any kids are getting fat, because of school lunches.
They are getting fat, because of what they are allowed to eat when they get home. If you let your kid guzzle soda, shovel down junk food and crap at home, they are gonna be fat. It aint because of the school lunch.
Next time you are at the grocery store, look at what people have in their carts. Some of them don't have anything but a shopping cart full of snacks and junk.
