The day is finally here - the latest round of tax increases has pushed us over the edge. It is simply unfeasible to live in Chicago/Illinois any longer. Luckily, I secured a transfer to our Dallas, TX office.

I know nothing about DFW and have only been to Texas a handful of times. Any tips from area residents would be extremely helpful. Family of 4, office is in the crescent area (downtown?).

You get the most for your money in North Dallas, if you can handle the commute.

Any city in Collin County is great(I recommend Allen, Frisco, McKinney, and Prosper), with A+ public schools.

That commute to downtown looks rough, especially from Prosper and McKinney.
