AFR show notes from 11/28/16...the day O was hired as HC
Hour one
Hour two
Hour three
-Today is a very disappointing day in the history of LSU football
-I hope in 10 years you all look back and say whatever happened to that idiot Moscona, remember when he bashed LSU for hiring O
-Hiring O is the most LSU move ever
-Hiring O is like going to the bar and settling for a 5
-Hiring O is like a millionaire buying a million dollar home and then filling that home with Walmart furniture
-On Saturday(the day O was announced as HC) LSU's football program regressed 30 years, that is such an LSU thing to do

This was just the first 10 minutes of the first hour

Most people on this board will say "well everyone felt that way, cut him some slack"...no, Matt probably has the biggest and loudest sports voice in Baton Rouge, and he got very subjective, and very personal and now it's biting him in the arse.

Baton Rouge's flagship sports show will never be able to interview the national championship coach of LSU, that's sad

You know what I like about local ESPN in Baton Rouge is guys are not afraid to go against the LSU toe the line mantra. Moscona, Culotta, Ott were always critical of Miles stubbornness. In the case of the 11/28/16 hire of Coach O, to be fair, those sentiments reflected probably 75% of the LSU fan base. If you are honest you would admit that.

Now, I for one never liked Herman, so Coach O getting the job did not cause the reaction of many LSU fans. I will admit that after the 2015 season, I was ready for Miles to move on and was upset with how the Jimbo hiring process went down.

Have you ever thought that Moscona's show is part of the Business model that Gordy wants. Moscona's show is more opinion driven and he interacts more with fans via the huddle (note, I don't participate in that). Ott and Hanny are more analytical and about breaking down things, of course they try to give fans the Vegas lines to see what unbiased people in the desert think if the game,

Culotta and T-Bob give you and fan perspective with T-Bob giving you a former player who comes off now as fan and someone who has a good beat on the pulse of the fanbase.

Hester is more about straight breaking down X's and O's as he played ball at the highest level at both LSU and NFL. So that is a niche his show has.

In my view, thank goodness Gordy had the since to negotiate with ESPN Corporate Executives the format he has. This is a College sports market, with Saints as secondary. The ESPN national model of talking about the NBA all day this time of year aint gonna work here. Even the NFL talk all year round, unless it is the Saints aint gonna work. ESPN 104.5 does a good job integrating Saints and NFL coverage but it does not dominate the BR market. LSU does as it should.

Again all views above are the opinions of me and only and do not represent the views of my family, friends or the organization I work for.
