It may be what people want but The Tolkien Estate has already hard coded being true to the canon established in the books in the contractual rights written up with Amazon. So want it or not if the Tolkien estate deems that Hobbits did not arrive until the 3rd age, that will be the end of that discussion.

There is room for literary license in the details of the story. Amazon just cannot add or change something in the story that contradicts what already exists in the books.
