Cause he had money left owed to him on his contract.
If LSU had cause then he doesn't get paid.
of course he was forced out.
But With no cause.
Otherwise they fire him with cause, they hold a press conference, and they tell everyone why they fired him. Just like Louisville did with Tom Jurich.
He made the right move in suspending Wade. They donors who already didnt like him threatened the university and got their way. The university made a decision and their lack of information on the event says enough. The fact that he was never formerly fired tells the whole story. They had no cause.

Fired for poor performance, which basically he was, he still gets paid.

Joe was paid 20% of what Jurich was and Louisville was trying to pin the FBI stuff on him. They've since settled for 6x what LSU has had to play Alleva to go away. Not really a similar situation cause LSU didn't have near the motivation to try to not pay Joe's contract.

Who really gives a damn if Alleva was fired or not! Lol.
He was relinquished of his duties as AD, replaced, and given a meaningless job.
Of course there was no cause to fire him, but that’s meaningless. Those in power wanted him out and away from everything.
Yes, Alleva did do several good things here. But, make no mistake, he was an aloof, pompous arse. He was a media relations nightmare in the face of crises when tough decisions and a strong, positive face for LSU was required.
