Didnt police in NOLA get in trouble for something similar? They would leave a unlocked car in strategic locations. When stolen, they would push a button and the car would shutdown and lock from the outside.

I saw something about this. That was pretty fricking awesome. If I could do that specific job, I'd love to be a police.
