3. The scramble/heave to Jetts in the SECCG. Dad and I were watching the game and screaming "GET RID OF IT!!!" and we both simultaneously screamed "OH MY GOD!!!" when Jefferson caught it. I literally fell out of my chair. When you're good you create your own luck, that's all that can be said about that play. Historical, vintage Burrow moment.
2. Really the whole Texas game, but particularly 3rd and 17. What a throw.. to climb in the pocket when they blitzed everyone in the box, get skinny, and know that he just needed to get enough on the ball to get it in the hole in their zone.... it was at that moment I knew Joe was for real. That was this program's statement game and it just felt like we came out playing with 2011 type swag. Both teams ended up going in different directions, but make no mistake about it... that was a very good Texas team we played week two.
1. Obviously the Bama game. In particular, Clyde's 4th quarter dominance. I was in tears watching the end of that game thinking about the agony we had been through as fans... watching incredibly talented backs like Fournette, Guice, et al, get pummeled by Bama's defense. Clyde just refused to be stopped in that 4th quarter. The shoe string catch and fighting for what seemed to be an impossible first down, and throwing tacklers off of him when he scored the last TD. It was a truly inspiring performance that deserves to be in the same convo as Rohan/Josh Reed.
Other mentions:
- Obviously the OU game: but I think most of us knew this game wouldn't be close. Can't say I expected such a historic blow out though.
- Joe's Heisman speech. Again, we knew it was coming after the Bama game... but to see straight in to Joe's heart was such a beautiful moment.
- Burrow to Chase for the dagger in the Florida game. What an amazing play call by E and Brady... the pick/wheel route combo freed up J'mar perfectly. It was a thing of beauty to watch develop.
What a freaking season this has been. Every day I still ask myself if this is real life!
