Here’s a good one... Really more of had to be there story, but it is relevant.

My grandfather was one of those that would joke about burying him with his phone in case he woke up... So he died and we bury him, but my grandmother didn’t throw the phone in... She did allow him to get buried in flip flops and a Hawaiian shirt, but didn’t do the phone.

Anyway, about a month clicks off, and my grandmother loses her phone. So here she is, lost phone, and it dawns on her that she hasn’t gotten around to disconnecting Pappaw’s phone and it is still sitting over on the bedside table on the charger. So she picks it up and rather than going to the store and disconnecting his phone, she disconnects her own to avoid having to buy a new phone... The problem is she has to call everyone and tell us what has gone on. So she proceeds to call all of us from his number. So everybody gets a call from Pappaw, Dad, etc. a month after his death. Like I said, had to be there, but a true story.
