No it's not. The routine scuffling happens before that. This was a clear push off with resulting separation that allowed him open access to catch the ball.

What is routine though is the league's history of not calling these. OPI's are rarely called when they ought to be, and that is a problem that is not discussed often enough. Really not much at all. The league has been designed over the past 2 decades to favor the offense and create a high scoring game, so there is a bias to only look at the defenders when contesting catches.

As far as this goes yesterday, that play is not anywhere close to as egregious as last year's no call. This no call of OPI is quite standard unfortunately. The truth is the Saints were beaten in the trenches yesterday and should not have won that game. We eventually caught a little fire in the 4th quarter, but us coming out with the victory would've been more of the Vikings losing than us winning. They completely outplayed us.

This is why I am not upset with the lack of call. Williams (was it him?) should never have let the WR get past him and catch the ball inside the 5. Bad play dictated this loss, not that final one. This differs from the Rams last year as well, since we were winning and controlling until the Rams worked their way back into the game. We played well and then had the game stolen from us by a terrible no call, and I believe intentional one. These two games simply can not be compared.
