Brossette and Williams werent just space fillers. Brossette was one of the most prolific RB's in La. high school history and Williams was a big bruising physical speciman of a high school RB who is now in the NFL. All Im saying is that if all we can sign is a lesser quality back than usual LSU quality at the position, then save the spot for next year. We have other better options already on the team for this year

Exactly. They just want any back for depth purposes which is idiotic. I'd rather a guy already on the team that has experience and can pick up the pass blocking and reads quicker (see how Curry started out of nowhere). I'd rather look to another position to grab a guy that isn't really being used. Devonte Lee or Tory Carter would be my pick. Honestly they'd only be used for relief at that point anyway. You plan for stuff to happen, not complete catastrophe. That's why the average school only roles with 3 deep at most positions.

In LSU's worst injury year for RBs we lost Murphy preseason, Scott against Bama, and then Keiland against La Tech I think. That's when we were down to Ridley and swiss army knife Holliday. Nothing like that has ever come close to happening again.
