I don't get this at all
I know a guy just like this. He had never even been to Disney. He had a friend that tried to convince him for a decade to go, and he finally did. He loved it. Wasn’t strapped down by doing stuff for kids, just got to do what he and his wife wanted to do and he wishes he had gone sooner.
It’s really not that hard to understand once you get past the fact that it’s not just for kids.

I’m being forced to go to Disney in July with the wife and kids plus her sister, husband, and their six daughters.
I’d rather shoot myself in the foot. All I keep hearing about is fricking Disney. They asked me over Christmas what I was looking forward to. I said laying by the pool. I also asked if our hours left had a gym. I proceeded to look for nearby CrossFit gyms.
They didn’t know what to think when I said I just didn’t give a shite.
