I have a question for those of you that start with seed indoors. What are you fertilizing your starts with? I read that you should start feeding when the first set of true leaves develop.
Found this at my local Home Depot. Use it once a week.

I am going to see how they each do with some extra pepper seeds that I have. I'm not looking for power savings or anything, just how they look after about 6-8 weeks and how much I had to fiddle with the lights, watering, and such.
Great idea. I know one thing for sure, my light has made a huge difference this year compared to previous years. 4' x 4 bulb T5HO 6500k. A quick google search shows one 4' T5HO bulb in that spectrum is about 5,000 lumens. So, apparently it's a 20,000 total lumen light fixture (which is what it claims). And I have tomato plants over a foot tall after a month.

Thanks. How long have you been using it? I have read that a slightly higher Phosphate than Nitrogen and Potash. Something like a 1-2-1 ratio is better for seedlings but I have no clue honestly.

Yeah I have a fixture like that sitting in my Wish List on Amazon right now for $85. It will probably be my next purchase. That or a large full spectrum system to see if I can grow peppers and tomatoes indoors year round. The boss lady does not want a green house in the backyard so the spare bedroom is my lab and play place.
