Was Dr. Manhattan racially ambiguous in the show?

I'm confused to which body/appearance he took on in the show, he was shown as a white child, then what looked to be a white man while he was eating dinner with her in Vietnam, then looked like a black man again, I don't understand why he couldn't just look like one person, what did this add to the show?

You didn’t really pay attention. They explained it pretty plainly.

SPOILERS

He was a white man, then a blue man with white features. Then he decided to be a black man, then was snapped out of his amnesiatic state and for some reason retained the black features when he became blue again.

Don't read this if you'd don't want to spoil the whole series. Then became a black woman?

I actually take comfort in the fact that I have no clue what anyone in this thread is talking about

Irony. Not sure if name checks out or doesn’t, though...

This!

They could not have explained in simpler terms. I pity the millenial generation. All the information in the world but they can't make sense of anything

Honestly, I just like fricking with FK for some reason. I didn't really get interested in this show after the first couple episodes; think I'm gonna wait for a rainy weekend to binge the whole season. That makes it easier on my attention span.

The guy that played Dr. Manhattan in the show is a terrible actor imo

They actually told him to be a worse actor to fit in with DM’s demeanor before it was revealed who that was

They originally didn’t tell him the twist but when he was giving a more lively performance they had to tell him to take it down

If you don’t actually watch the show, you will tend to be confused about this. Maybe try to actually watch it

There is a lot of bad acting in this show.

And Regina Kings cry/wail might be the worst noise i have ever heard. It sounds like some animal in heat, or in pain.

You are not alone, it's sitting at 51%, for audience score.
