Most are just upset because he doesn't share their political views.
But some are legitimately unhappy with how tough he has been on greek life. In all fairness, LSU is not the first University to make strict rules regarding Greeks. I believe he did what was best for both public relations and maintaining some form of control.
That situation could have been handled better. But I know WHY he chose those actions.
I cant speak for the liberal politics.

King and JBE killed the Jimbo hire (which ultimately seems to have worked out well for us) because the state was in a budget crisis. The athletic department is self funded and totally separate from the university's funds.
That and his holistic admissions policies pissed a lot of alumni off. He also trashed the state and university every chance he got. Good riddance.

Most are upset because he's a liability in academics.
Anyone who supports or defends him is, by definition, in favor of intellectual mediocrity.
