Soon enough an 18 year old kid (and his family) will have to deal with this..... "you will be able to monetize a name, image and likeness". Of course maintaining a recruiting balance will be one of the issues. My son is a very good JUCO athlete playing at an All American level in a non revenue sport. You can already hear some of the bigger schools recruiting him for his last two years vaguely selling the idea that "come to our school, not only do we have the facilities but your face will be out there" its subtle, but there. Now I'm very blessed that sport provides a full ride scholarship for my son but I wonder if any of you have been recruited or are going through the process now with your kids where this comes up or discussed? Its strange but it leads me to this...……. when and if this goes into full effect the Tigers will continue to be at even bigger recruiting advantage because of their stature and National prominence... Geaux Tigers!

I'm pretty sure that when it's fully rolled out that there will be guidelines in place that would try to prevent the LSU's of the world from having an advantage over the Vandy's. It's not just going to be come to LSU because we can get you 1 mill dollars, and Vandy can only get you 10,000. There is going to be some kind of ceiling you can reach.

Will LSU still have an advantage over other schools? Of course they will, but it is really no different than the advantages they currently already have.

This has always been part of recruiting, at least for the elite players in revenue sports. You couldn't offer it right away, but if you think Duke didn't sell Zion on being a bigger name right away, being able to sign a shoe deal the day he left school if he wanted to, etc., then you don't know how the game is played.
