It is precious that anyone would think either party involved in an extortion situation would acknowledge it publicly while the extorter still holds power over the victim.

... even if the victim were given a platform to corroborate said extortion
... while the alleged extorter was being publicly investigated, would face consequences, AND be removed from the position of power over the victim.

Yea you are probably right, that would be super stupid for the victim to do. why would any victim ever come forward in such circumstances?
