Cajun Steamer in Cool Springs is the Official spot for Nashville Alumni Association. Definitely not touristy. Recommend getting there at least an hour early.

Just go to either Double Dogs location. Both are down from broadway and not as far out of the city as the other options mentioned.
And Murfreesboro is its own city, 35 minutes from Nashville.
