No we wouldn’t. If I was single now, I’d be looking at as close to the half my age plus seven formula as I could get. And so would everyone else.

No- that may be your preference, but it’s not everyone else’s. I live in an area with higher than average incomes and education. Marriageable men (emotionally mature, fiscally responsible, educated) that I personally know tend to date at peer age or about 5 years below. That’s how you build a life and stable family with a best friend and lover.
If you were single now, it sounds like you’d need the number of an escort agency and an iron-clad prenup. While I have no doubt men are sexually attracted to 20 year olds, most normal older guys are emotionally attracted to an equal (in age, education, finance status).

My brother observed that women tend to get things figured out by 25. At that point they’ve lived enough to understand how the world works, to know what they’re looking for, and most importantly, they understand themselves.

I do think it’s easier dating someone who’s 25 vs 21 or 22.

Yeah, I’m a little over 50 and no way would I want a 25 year old for anything meaningful. 35 plus, hopefully on hormone treatment. A little bit of testosterone for a woman equals a happy and exhausted partner.
