That makes me think of someone I used to know.

As she put it, you don’t always marry the love of your life. In her case, I think she actually despised her husband.

It didn’t make sense to me at the time. But I think I can appreciate her plight, now.

He was the best worst option.

So, you support people being miserable just so they aren't alone? That makes no sense. I'd rather be alone than in a marriage with someone I despised. Maybe that's the problem. People feel too much societal pressure to be in a relationship. I can be happy in a relationship. I can be miserable in a relationship. I can be happy alone. I can't be miserable alone because only I can control that. Maybe I would be happier in a relationship, but I can certainly not be miserable alone. If the only thing that makes me happy is being in a relationship no matter how healthy it is, then there is something wrong with me.
