Yep. Women want to vent, men want to solve the problem.
If your wife wants you to give a solution, she will explicitly ask you for it. Otherwise, just listen, say "wow that's awful babe, I'm sorry" and let her bitch.
Your life will be easier when you understand that men and women are very different in this regard.
