We don’t want to be #1 until we take it from their cold dead fingers

You don’t want respect that is awarded you because of your pedigree, because in the back of some people’s minds it will always be respect you didn’t deserve.


So I Like that LSU is still being disrespected, because it will be that much sweeter every time we steal that emotion from those that look down on us.

This whole season is a tale of disrespect and it made us thrive.

Joe Burrow. The cast off QB who Ohio State the great didn’t want. Who came down here to Baton Rouge to a team that many thought would be lucky to get 9 wins.
Not even in the heisman talk at the start of the year, and he has done nothing but shut up every naysayer, break all the records, show us a QB, a LEADER with grit in his veins and the heart of a tiger.

And part of that, was because he was told he wasn’t good enough. Soon, he will hoist the first Heisman a Tiger QB ever has.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire. The running back many said was too small. That he would be beat out by 5 stars. That he couldn’t hack it. And yet, with that chip on his shoulder, he bowled over the competition, he rammed it down their throats, and carried the whole damn Bama D to secure the final first down we needed to beat Saban in their own house and break the curse.

Coach O. The man, much maligned, who many said was a failure of a hire. Who was insulted over and over on national television, mocked as a half-wit shrimp boat captain. An unintelligible, unintelligent coonass who only got the job because big names bamboozled Alleva and left us hanging.

And he took that disrespect, and while many looked down their nose at him, he went and found the pieces to the puzzle that LSU had been needing for so long. He brought us into a new era, breaking records, recruiting like a madman, inspiring a team to give it all for the glory of our Alma Mater, and after a season some thought would be his last, we stand 12-0 in regulation.

We stand on the brink of greatness , and still they disrespect us.


GOOD
Because that disrespect is going to give us even more fuel to do what we’ve done all season. To prove the pundits wrong and TAKE what is ours.

So they can keep their #1. Because it doesn’t matter. The only thing that matters is that once the dust has settled and the Tiger roars, only LSU will remain.
