He had enough info to challenge IMO.

He thought the ball went in, his team did not get 2 points.

This is so you

Watch the video, read the own refs words on what happened. Houston immediately starts arguing and discussing the call with the ref. There is no fricking challenge flag in basketball, you challenge a play by discussing it with the ref. The 30 second window for anyone with common sense would be met as long as the coach starts the dialogue in this window. The fact this braindead ref is saying it was "challenged too later" (thats his own words ), while houston is immediately arguing the call with him, is something only you and maybe slackster could support

Yes they did. Why were they arguing again? Harden dunked the ball, why exactly would D'antoni argue Harden dunking a ball and getting the usual 2 points for dunking a ball?

I'm aware

What? They may have some specific, designated way to do it but you challenge a play by saying probably something along the lines of "Challenge that play" not by just "discussing" it with the ref.

Why were they arguing?

I haven't seen video of D'Antoni, but here is the protocol for a coach's challenge - LINK

quote:

To initiate a challenge, a team must call a legal timeout. The coach must immediately signal a challenge by twirling a finger toward the referees

I've seen video of them all pointing down to say the basket went through, but nothing twirling the finger. Granted, I haven't seen video of the timeout yet.
