It's obvious the committee truly believes OSU is the best team in the country by a good margin. So losing to them is no knock in their eyes.

They are above ND and Iowa, 2 teams they beat. They beat the crap out of ND so they obviously think Michigan is better even with an additional loss
That is somewhat logical reasoning. After like 5 you can throw 6 teams out and rank them then 8 more and organize then 5 more
