2003 vs. OK was like a dream. Truly in a dream-state the entire game. Just numb. Took a while to sink in and convince yourself we were really that good after spending so many years in relative obscurity.

I have to say that this year has me on the edge of my seat. Hard to believe that we've come from a disorganized, often-disappointing cabal of a team the past few years to an offensive flamethrower like we're seeing today. Almost to good to be true. These storybook scenarios are often accompanied by tragic endings. I keep waiting for the wheels to fall off the offense, but this team has not missed a lick since Georgia Southern. The consistency and opponents' inability to stop this team is just nuts.

I'll be in ATL Saturday cheering them on. A win would be terrific but have to say I'm already satisfied with the knowledge that LSU football is back in the hunt for a long time to come. Geaux Tigers.

Tell the truth. You thought Jason White and that OU's Best Defense ever was gonna beat our asses 31-10 huh?

I did. But I love being wrong.

Same here. I'm terrified every Saturday that we will finally have a reality check. Thankfully, reality so far has been that we are vastly better than everyone we've played.

So have I.

My dad is almost 91 years old and a '49 and '51 graduate of LSU.

In 2003, he said he never thought he'd see the day when LSU won it all again. Then 2007 happened. (We won't discuss the mulligan in 2011.)

Hope the old guy gets to see it once more on January 14th.

Go build your fricking fence. Aubie is better than UGA. We gonna win and the wheels on this offense are going to be carefully removed by the NFL draft when the time comes.

I didn’t think Jason White would beat us. But I did think 5 other teams on our schedule would. 2003 was unreal.

I'll be getting at least 2 tix for the game and will happily bequeath them to my grown kids and spouses. I went to 2003 and 2007, and (thankfully) missed 2011.

Truth. I was living in Oklahoma at that time and I remember telling many of the OU fans around me that I was just glad LSU got to the title game. I was ecstatic that LSU won. I want us to win not just get there.

For the last 16 years, all I have heard OU fans say is that they are glad that they got to the title game or to the playoffs; yet they have not won a title since 2000.

2003 vs LSU
2004 vs USC
2008 vs Florida

Two playoff semi-finals with loses to GA and Alabama.

LSU is different.

It's so crazy that LSU has been on a 4-year cycle of great seasons, barring 2015...which Alabama upended. After this season I'll be looking forward to 2023!

As much as people tried to lie to themselves in ‘03 and ‘07, all national titles are not created equal. There is something to be said for perfection.

If LSU finishes this season the way I think they will, this title will blow away the other 2 from this millennium and will stand among the greatest seasons off all time. I have waited my entire life to see a dominant, perfect season from LSU and they are on the cusp of achieving it. It’s been very satisfying to watch.

To be honest i havent seen many drives where in fact we got stopped but stopped ourselves from mistakes...I guarantee if you go and look at every drive that ended in a punt...it was due to dropped ball or something of the nature but not bc they straight up stopped us...

When K State beat them up in the conf champ gave, I knew they wouldn’t have a chance. Granted a small little fellow named Sproles was the ringleader in that beatdown.

I felt much better in 03 and 07, not 11 and this year. Just my opinion

After we were up 31-0 on A&M we had some funky so called drives. That does bother me a bit.

There's a lot of truth being said here.

I too, have to pinch myself during these games. What we've experienced this year has been truly amazing. I never thought I'd see the day where we had an offense that was so explosive and impressive. The offensive numbers have been mind boggling... and it's week in and week out.

This team has had major tests against Texas, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama, and in each test this team has risen to the occasion. In all 4 of these games we have totally dominated in at least 1 half.... and that's really all we've needed.

This has been such a historic season....

But at the same time, we can't be satisfied yet. I hope the team isn't. They have put themselves in position to go down as one of the all time greats.... just like the 2011 team did.

They just need to finish the job.

I know the feeling! My Dad ('39 & '41 grad) passed in 1997. But the excitement of 2003 BCS brought happy tears from me.
Best wishes to you & your Dad enjoying another great season! You reiterate what I try to explain to younger relatives. Daddy-Daughter Game days were a truly special time! Happy Memories.

We attended the 2003 and 2007 games together. We also went to games together from 2002 to about 2008 or 2009 when he couldn't manage the ramps and steps of Tiger Stadium.

He's too feeble to make it down to the Dome but I'll be representing for him.

My Dad just turned 93 and was teaching at LSU in 1959. He has also said he thought he’d never see it again. Here’s hoping they both get to see another one in January
