Joe Burrow - 12 game regular season - 78.3% (314 of 401)

The previous single regular season record (12 games) was 77.6% - Colt McCoy (291 of 375)

McCoy also has the 13-game record - 76.7%. Burrow is likely to break that record next week.

Congrats to Joe and his receivers.

If I’m not mistaken, “season” records now officially include championship games, so Joe’s records may not be settled. At least that’s what some dude told me.

Maybe I'm wrong, but, I thought Championship games count for season reords?

Depends on the site. Some site lump them all together, and some sites differentiate postseason games.

Yup.

No way they achieve those high numbers without the Jugs work they did last Summer. The WRs have said that Jugs reps made the biggest difference (in several video interviews).

In 2002, the NCAA made the decision to start counting bowl game stats with the official records for regular season performance. The decision was made to make college football record-keeping consistent with how records are held for other NCAA sports, where postseason results are counted on top of regular season stats.

Yes. True.

But some stat freaks choose to break out "apples to apples" comparisons. i.e., 12 game, 13 game, 14 game, and 15 game stats.

And particularly stats from Natty runs deserve special categories in the opinion of many people (not all people) just on strength of competition alone.

And I use NCAA to mean college football stats - not official NCAA stats. The NCAA lumping 12-game season stats with 15-game season stats is a lazy effort, IMO.

However, you have a point, so I edited the title to better describe Joe's 12-game record.

Did we break the conference record for most points in the regular season also? I heard the announcers on ESPN say that last night, but haven’t found anything to confirm.
