Adding another stick to the household. Have had Roku stick the last 4 years. Should I stay put or explore Firestick? Not a heavy duty user, mainly the kids and the wife like YouTube and maybe Hallmark if available. Any suggestions???
FYI: layman’s terms only please. No techies here in this house.

Both are about equal if you use roku now stick with it so wife and kids won't have to learn how to use the firestick

If you have Prime, and do anything with Echos/Alexa/etc., the Firtestick is worth it. If it is literally the only streaming/smart home device you have, then it probably doesn't matter.

I would at least upgrade, if I were you, to the Roku Ultra, not the stick. Same onnection, same interface, better performance. Streaming tech changes pretty quickly, outside of a few pieces of equipment, most should be updated every 2-3 years.

I prefer Roku, just so I don't have to deal with all of the garbage on the FireTV homescreen.

Roku is awesome. Both of my fire devices slowed down and got laggy after about a year or two but the old arse roku I bought for cheap at Walmart has been trucking for about 2 years now and still works great.
