Yeah, Giuliani is going to work out a pay plan while investigating corruption.

It's like they ignore how he made his career as a prosecutor.

"A person familiar with the negotiations described contracts drafted this year in which Giuliani would have worked for Lutsenko or separately, the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice."

"But the negotiations proceeded far enough that legal agreements were drafted under which Giuliani’s company would have received more than $200,000 to work for the Ukrainians, people familiar with the agreements said."

"The person said that another retainer agreement, drafted in March, called for Giuliani Partners to receive $300,000 from the Ministry of Justice for help locating the supposedly stolen assets."

"Though no Ukrainian government official is named in the indictment, people familiar with the matter say the references refer to Lutsenko."

Thanks WaPo for the great reporting here but one thing I'm confused by was one person or multiple people because you seem to merge the two and then separate the two throughout the article.

NYT though cites unknown "People"

"At the same time, a federal criminal investigation into Mr. Giuliani is examining his role in the campaign to oust Marie L. Yovanovitch, the American ambassador to Ukraine, and whether he sought to make money in Ukraine at the same time he was working against her, according to people briefed on the matter."

"Prosecutors and F.B.I. agents in Manhattan are examining whether Mr. Giuliani was not just working for the president, but also doing the bidding of Ukrainians who wanted the ambassador removed for their own reasons, the people said."

Fantastic WaPo & NYT for bringing Darkness Back into Your Democratic Party Reporting.
