It's essentially the same thing as a Christmas party.

It's clear by the things the OT complains about, namely gender reveals, this, and other social events/parties, that none of you have any friends.

Damn, some of y'all are some miserable, salty fricks. I've been going to friendsgivings before social media became a thing. I like hanging out with my friends, and it gives us an excuse to get together and eat seasonal food. It's a lot better than Thanksgiving with my boring family.

Or just a good time to spend time with the friends who are just as close to you as your relatives and have likely made more of an impact on your life than your 3rd aunt you have to invite to thanksgiving every year
