If they want the lowdown on that, they’re better off subpoenaing Lynch.

Bill’s already demonstrated that he’s got no problem with lying under oath. But Loretta? She’d crack.

He should be cautious the comments he's tweeting about potential witnesses.

Left will be screaming "WITNESS INTIMIDATION!"

I have a gut feeling that being under oath will not mean a thing to Adam Schiff.

But he should fear the hell the Republicans will unleash on him.

I’m not sure he could take the 5th. As the Supreme Court has ruled, impeachment is a political action, not a judicial action; therefore his 5th amendment rights should not apply.

Furthermore, it being within the confines of an official congressional duty, he would be protected under the Speech and Debate clause (article 1, section 6) of the Constitution. The courts have ruled that those who are immune to prosecution cannot take the 5th. I’d love to see Schiff held in contempt and impeached for failure to fulfill his constitutional duties.

McConnell has an option.
Maybe by rule. But if the House advances the Articles of Impeachment, the fever pitch out there would accept nothing less than a trial. What you propose might actually be what's best for everyone, Dems get to wag their fingers and Repubs don't have to go on record, but I don't think that's an acceptable option for the majority of Americans. Dems are stupid and they think they have him by the balls. Republicans want to go scorched earth. JMO

If they can catch him in a lie, via emails, memos, or texts; then he has perjured himself. He will be full of "I don't remember, I do not recall" garbage.

interesting. if schiff didn't voluntarily comply, is there some reason the senate can do that and the house can't?

One is official and the other a sham.

My favorite thing about Trump’s branding has been the “perfect” call. To date. I like it better than Pocahontas and ALMOST better than Crooked (his best nickname of all time).

But the “perfect” call is so genius, bc it places the burden of proving the call “imperfect” on the idiot Democrats who can’t ever disprove a transcript. They are so dumb they don’t realize they are reinforcing Trump’s point when they mock his “perfect” call.

It’s truly, truly genius. He so owns them. He’s outsmarted them already and these lunatics are too stupid to realize it. It’s brilliant. He hasn’t outmaneuvered them yet, but he’s going to. I love our POTUS.

hope you are right but why would the hotel stuff be relevant and/or admissible?

Because as the driver of he impeachment proceedings in the House, he would be found to be lacking in character/credibility .

I guess it's all hands on deck now since he has been dragged through the mud for 3 years, but I think I recall that Trump says Obama is 'hands off' out of respect for the office. Could be wrong.

Someone today says it's not. It's a political proceeding and not a criminal proceeding, hence, the 5th does not apply. Just what I read though.
