Well lo and behold, he comes back for 1995 and 1996.
The Press thought it was a farewell parting gift in 1994.
To be fair, Nebraska has the most #1 votes to start the season, and they ultimately ran away with the AP votes in the end. Farewell gift or not, that team was also really good and well respected.
