re: Based on similarities with OSU 2018, LSU's defensive problems are probably scheme-related

I'm not saying scheme is not an issue but there were several plays where players were in position to make a play but didn't. There were also some where the players were clearly out of position. For example the play where they faked an end around and Plumlee ran for a TD, I guarantee you that it was somebody's assignment to have backside containment. But that somebody bit on the end around and left the edge wide open.
I think too many guys on defense are playing undisciplined and trying to free lance instead of executing their assignments.

If you want to see carbon copies of Ole Miss game, watch OSU v Oregon State or Maryland, two weak teams that gashed OSU. OSU brought in new coaches and fixed the problems, much in the same way that LSU hired Brady and fixed its offensive problems.

Exactly. On one of Plumlee's TD's, Chaisson ignored him and chased the RB across the field after the fake. Plumlee had the ball with nothing but green in front of him.
At least a couple of their big plays would have been contained if guys had stayed home on defense.

I agree with this. Not playing disciplined defense.
