When the city leaders tell the bad guys they are short 100 cops and they are having trouble hiring because the pay is much lower than their neighbors, its really a bad situation.

Then when there's trouble and the cops are sued and the chief throws the department under the bus; you really have an issue.

And when the Mayor seems to support the current situation and is more concerned with things like stopping SG, putting out bike racks, putting in a bus line or building a grocery store; its even worse.
