Not replying specifically to you prpl,
But the super high protein intake is more likely the culprit. I know a guy who was in to bodybuilding and needed, and got, kidney transplant. Didn’t lose his leg though.

Yet all the new studies show even very high intake of protein(greater than 2* be) still have no affect on the kidneys.
Again, stop spouting myths and post scientific facts.
