You left out some very key points here.... injuries, we have 6 starters playing with injuries and our 2 best players who are closer to 50% than 100%. Delpit is playing on will alone, he can’t run, he can’t change directions and he can’t tackle. He’s out there basically to line people up and make calls. Lawrence is also a shell of himself, every 2-3 games he’ll flash his old self for a series or two but he is also out there on mostly heart alone. All 3 corners are nicked up as well, Stingley hasn’t been close to the same since taking those two hits vs Florida, Fulton has been incredible on 1 leg and Vincent hasn’t played a full quarter at a time in 3 weeks. It’s not just that our top 4 players are hurt but they’re our leaders as well. When a young kid sees a leader make an incredible play it can ignite that young players best self and lift his play but we’ve been robbed of that. The other point is I think you’ve overestimated our LB play, they’re an average group without a stand out player. Phillips and Clarke are good at taking on guards and moving forward vs the run but neither can run or cover very well. Queen looks like he’s got the talent but he takes bad angles mostly in coverage and has very poor tackling technique.
