Gatewood is an athlete too and is much bigger than King.

Also, coaches don’t always make the correct choice during QB position battles. Burrow was a backup at Ohio State after all, and may never have started had he stayed there.

ETA: I’m not saying Gatewood is any good or saying he’s not. Just that I trust the coaches to do what’s best for LSU, whether that’s Brennan or a transfer.

If they do bring in a transfer, maybe Brennan looks at Tulane having seen what McMillan has done there.
