If you can find a Starbucks with a Clover brewer it's the closest thing to a decent cup they have. Try one of their reserve coffees, I used to drink them all the time. It will still taste burnt, however.
I have to also say that without Starbucks, the specialty coffee scene wouldn't exist. They got people to pay $5 for a cup. They were second wave, specialty is third wave.

Can you explain your Chemex method exactly?

What about paper filters for the Chemex, what is the best out there?

What local shops/roasters have you tried?

When I can, I tend to buy from Garden District Coffee. Everything from them just seems to taste fresh and clean.

I personally haven't been impressed with the flavor profiles of French Truck and Cafeciteaux Beans (and I think I've got most pour-over methods down to a science). Maybe I'm getting the wrong blends...

I live nextdoor to a expert from Community Coffee. He has turned me into a coffee snob. I thought my craft beer habit was bad. Coffee is way more expensive.
